Pour HELIOGABALUS, le quintette s'accorde deux ans de travail et ça se ressent. Les cymbales isolées et séparées par de longues secondes lors de l'ouverture donnent le tempo : infusé de doom metal et de drone asphyxiants, le post-hardcore de HELIOGABALUS est d'une lenteur maladive ; la moindre élévation mène à la chute. Un chef-d'œuvre ! Favorite track: Heliogabalus (Part III).

tr_🇺🇦 Some tremolo riffing but predominantly extreme doom with monotonous screaming. 1st song is pure joy to me when I'm in the mood for slow. The 3rd song starts with a meditative drone and a theme that made me think of "The Chandrasekhar Limit" by UK noise doomsters Uncertainty Principle. He could do more with his voice. This is the kind of music that derails my mind. Then, I often see unknown faces. If you see a carrot nodding in approval for your doom metal eh... mettle you know who it is. Favorite track: Heliogabalus (Part I).

Going right out of inferno, HLGBLS is a 70 minutes song which illustrates the decadence of the Roman emperor, Heliogabalus. This time Rorcal is going ways further than before, with crushing doom parts, including long hellish droning fields. This album is scary, really aggressive, completely gloomy. Be sure, you never heard something like that, and you never will. If you’re looking for something really extreme, this is exactly what you need.

Released in 2010 through Division Records, Cal of Ror Records and Urgence Disk.

CD presented in an A6 digifile, including an 8 pages color booklet. Limited to 500 copies. Hand-assembled and hand-numbered. Booklet inserted into a black envelope. Sealed with blood-red wax.

HELIOGABALUS CD version is originally divided into 66 parts.
